Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies

Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies - Feature

Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies are a yummy twist on our beloved Chocolate Chip Cookie. The addition of sour cream is the most obvious twist. It’s an additional ingredient that totally changes the consistency of the cookies (in a good way!). The other twist is use of cake flour versus normal baking flour. This switch along with the sour cream turn your average chocolate chip cookie into a smooth, light and almost fluffy chocolate chip cookie.

I’m rating Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies 1-star for cookie baking difficulty. This is a typical drop cookie recipe that has basic ingredients; all added easily and without any extra steps except chopping the nuts!

Definitely a “win win” for all cookie!

Pulling all the ingredients together was easy. Everything was in my baking pantry except the sour cream. I’m not a big fan, so it’s not something I generally keep around the house. I ran to the grocery store real quick to pick some up.

It was easy to mix the ingredients together. The sour cream helped to smooth out and lighten up the cookie dough. For the nuts, I used walnuts, because that’s what I always use with other chocolate chip cookie recipes…and of course, semi-sweet chocolate bits or chips.

In just a few minutes, the cookie dough was all mixed together. The lighter color of the dough looks so awesome with the chocolate bits.

I placed heaping teaspoons of dough on greased cookie sheets.  The dough is spread wide on the cookie sheets because I expected the cookies to spread out while baking…

But they didn’t!  The cookies puffed up a little, but basically kept their shape.

I baked the cookies until the tops slightly browned. This kept they slightly soft in the middle.  I just love the color of the cookies, they look so tasty!

Look at all that texture!

The recipe makes about 3 – 4 dozen cookies, so didn’t take too long to make and bake. A great cookie to whip up quickly for kids after school or a last-minute gathering of friends and family.

Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies add couple simple twists to traditional chocolate chip cookies recipe to create a light and creamy wonderful cookie everyone will love!

Simple to make, easy to bake…I know you will Sour Cream Chocolate Drop Cookies!
